♂ Tecumseh
What does Tecumseh mean?
Tecumseh as a boys' name is of Algonquian Wakashian origin, and the meaning of Tecumseh is "goes through one place to another". The name refers to a shooting star. It was borne by a prominent Shawnee chief (18th-19th century) who attempted to unite various tribes to negotiate with the American government. He held that all land belonged to all tribes, and that none of it could be sold without the consent of all. His name appeared again as the middle name of Union Army General William Tecumseh Sherman.
